SECOND THURSDAY 29th OF LENT
“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” (Psalm 32,1-2 ESV)
On a scale from one to ten, how blessed are you? I confess that it is hard to put a number to the level of blessing we think we may have. Yet, the reality in Christ is that we are blessed more than we can think or imagine. This Psalm reminds us that we are forgiven, our sins are covered, and our iniquities are not counted because we in Christ have the Righteous One living by his Spirit in us.
So every time we feel we are not good enough, every time we sin, let us come to him in prayer and ask him to restore us.
Sometimes I need a clean slate,
a fresh start, a new beginning,
new life from a world of death.
God, let me embrace your forgiveness
so that I may know to the depths of my soul
that as I offer my brokenness I am made new.
Amen.[1]
