We are exploring the book of Revelation, and last Sunday in First Church we looked at Revelation Chapter Six. This is jus a short summary of one of the points I was sharing.
“Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and every slave and free person hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come! And who is able to stand?”” (Revelation 6,15-17 CSB17)
There are four riders and four horses, each of them bringing suffering to the earth.
One is about conquest, another is about wars, another is about famine, and the last one is about death.
The fifth seal is about the blood of the martyrs and their cry for justice. Yet they were given white robes.
The sixth seal is about the wrath of the Lamb. There is a great earthquake, and the whole earth is affected. Kings, leaders, generals, and the powerful run to the caves because of the Lamb’s judgement.
The fear of the Lord is something to behold.
This coming Sunday (22nd ), we will look at Chapter 7; here is a short summary.
