We are exploring the book of Revelation and last Sunday we finished the second part of Revelation Chapter 7
Here is a short summary
Revelation 7:9-17 offers us a vision of the future hope that awaits all believers. It shows us the victorious multitude, purified by the blood of the Lamb, worshiping God in unity and diversity. It reminds us that even through great tribulation, God remains faithful, and His promise of eternal care and comfort is sure.
This passage calls us to respond in faith, trusting the Lamb, our Saviour and Shepherd. As we live in the present world with its challenges and struggles, we hold onto the hope of this future reality—where every tear will be wiped away, and we will dwell forever in the presence of our loving God.
May we, like the multitude, cry out in worship: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!” Amen.
This coming Sunday, Sixth October, we will look at Chapter 8:1-13. Here is a summary.
“When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” (Revelation 8:1)
- The seventh seal is opened, and before any further action is taken, heaven has a profound silence.
- These events symbolize the disruption of creation, affecting the land, sea, rivers, and sky.
- They are reminiscent of the plagues of Egypt, serving as a demonstration of God’s power and a warning to humanity.
- The partial nature of these judgments (e.g., one-third of the earth) suggests that they are not final but are intended to provoke repentance.
May I urge you to not just read, but to reflect and pray on what the Lord is revealing to you through this text?
