“Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” And they glorified God because of me.”
(Galatians 1:21–24 ESV)
There is something so powerful about these few verses, and I can’t ignore, and it is this:
“There is power in your story”, or in a more Christianise way “There is power in your testimony”.
This power is not yours alone, and it is the power of God in your life that can transform you from the inside out. Now you are a new creation. In him, you are a new person.
“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10 ESV)
It is Jesus’ words written in our hearts so that now your story his story is one for the Glory of God.
Paul said that the churches whom he used to persecute are now relief and rejoicing that their enemy has surrendered to Jesus and now their Lord is Paul’s Lord. That is why they rejoiced and glorified God because of the testimony of what the Lord did to Paul. This story points to Jesus; it is Jesus’ prophetic act of changing lives that speaks and release experience, encouragement, builds up and strengthen the Church, and that is the essence of prophecy.
Does your story and my story bring Glory to God? I am confident that it does.
Be Blessed.
