“… He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15–16 ESV)
There are so many different voices speaking today that it is so encouraging and uplifting to read these words. These words put the world in its right perspective, and there is nothing that can challenge or even come close to match up this powerful benediction, this is indeed a Good Word.
I believe that when Paul wrote these words, he became overwhelmed by God’s Presence that he burst into a song of praise! Thank God that we have access to God, our Father through Christ his Son and the Son dwells in un by the miracle of God’ Spirit.
By lifting our eyes towards the dwelling place of the King, we become more aware of His realm and reality, which is his Glory.
I love the comment that the Reformation Bible ESV has to say about this verse: “…God condescends to make His Glory visible to sinful human beings while at the same time shielding them from the full manifestation of His divine being, lest they be destroyed by His consuming holiness…Paul refers here to the overpowering radiance of God’s divine being in Himself, which we His sinful creatures cannot perceive apart from the mediation of Christ the divine Son…” (The Reformation Study Bible)
This is an invitation to stop and worship. To let go and fall into the mystery and wonder of God’s Presence.
