“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

It seems that every structure we thought was safe isn’t now. Just look at the war that is taking place now and what is going on worldwide.

It is the same with Church.

I have been asking myself this question: What is God saying?

Yes, I believe that God can work through our structures and institutions, and after all, there is an order, a pattern, to God’s mind. We see that in creation! Yet, I can’t but think that even though he is the God of order, he is outside order itself! He can do what he pleases with structures, institutions, and every pattern he designed. No Zebras are the same, and indeed each of us shares the same humanity, but We are different, different races, colours and languages.

So, what is God saying, and what is God doing?

I know he is saying many things. He speaks to us through his Word and the Spirit. I know that he is active, and he is always creating. Yet! What is he saying to us?
Is there a pattern to see his works and hear his voice?

I think more than ever, and this verse is becoming more and more important!
We can’t retain the Holy Spirit because he has a mind, a personality of his own! We can’t create a movement of God because he is free to do whatever he pleases, and we cannot manipulate his moves because that will be sinning.

But what if we are now asked to follow the movement of the Spirit and follow the Wind (same Greek word for Spirit) Even though it might lead us to unexpected places.
However, we have something compelling that can help us know the activity and the move of the Spirit. We can understand where he is moving and where he was leading us and working because we are also born with the same DNA, the Spirit within us.
So that is our starting point and only point of reference.
