There are no words that can express the pain of losing someone you love, admire and honour.
The upsetting news of the death of Captain Ryan McBride of Derry City FC has moved us all. As a chaplain of Cliftonville FC, I have the privilege to serve players, staff, club directors and fans who love the game. Every player that I have met wants to win, they are proud of wearing their jersey but this week we all lost.
Derry City lost a great captain, they lost a great player, they lost a great team mate, they lost a great friend and they lost a son.
There are no words just silence. I believe that this painful silence carries the pain, the prayers and the support of thousands.
I want to add my prayers and my sincere and heart felt condolences to the family and friends of Derry City Captain Ryan McBride.
