1st Rathfriland PCI

I was invited to speak to an amazing group of people yesterday in 1st Rathfriland Presbyterian Church. They came from different churches and it was such an amazing experience that I won’t forget for three reasons.

I was possibly the youngest in the room. I shared my story encouraging them to have an encounter with Jesus, to take on the mission of Jesus and to experience the experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. I shared stories of people experiencing the power of Jesus and how some of them have been healed. At the end of our meeting, I prayed for some of them who were in pain.

Second, I spoke about my Granny, sadly she passed away far to young and yet the impact that she made in my life is huge. She prayed for me before I was born and she saw and knew the Lord’s call in my life.

Third, I realised that the “senior” generation are hungry and thirsty for the Presence of the Lord just as I am. I sat next to an amazing man, I asked him to pray for me before the talk and it was such a blessing, it was honouring and powerful. When the meeting was over he gave me a Grandad hug, I was so moved, then looking at me he asked if I have experienced the “Holy Ghost’s Power’ and I said yes and I received another hug, but this time was more like a blessing.

On my way back to Ballynahinch driving through the beautiful countryside, I was reminded of Peter’ sermon when he called out the words of the prophet Joel and I sensed that the awakening that we are experiencing will be for all young and old.

“ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

(Acts 2:17–18 NIV11)
